As with all food preparation, ensure that all cooking utensils, work surfaces and hands are clean. Then make sure that all the ingredients, which you can see at below, are ready.

  • 500g strong white flour
  • 10g yeast
  • 10g salt
  • a pinch of sugar
  • luke-warm water about 350ml
  • 1 Tbs of vegetable oil (optional)

Then what you do is put the strong white flour, the yeast, the salt, the pinch of suger and the tablespoon of vegetable oil (if desired) and the water, bit by bit or all the water. Stir it in untill you you get a sticky mixture.

Then you tip out of the dough on to the surface and kneed it so it is smooth; it will take ruffly 5 to 10 mins like I am doing in the top picture. To kneed you have to use your left hand to hold it and your right hand you push the dough fowards and then pull it back over, then you turn it 90 degrees and do it again.

Now all you need to do is greas the tin that you put in the dough so that it this spred out. Then you put the dough in the oven ni cook in for 30 to 35 minutes.

And the reason it is called a strong white bread is because it has got olny stong white flour. It is ok to use other flour be it s not a good idea and it will not tased like it should.Facete tincidunt
